This post is slightly different than what you normally see from me, mainly because this wedding was different from many weddings I shoot. This wedding was intimate and unique and I wish I could do more weddings like this. Let me say though, that I will always enjoy big and formal weddings because while a lot of weddings are the same, each one is special in its own way.
April & Dan have been together for a long time. Rather than getting carried away (which is easy to do when planning a wedding) they chose to focus on making sure their guests had a great time and that their wedding centered around the two of them. They didn’t have a huge bridal party or a big party bus. There was no 45 minute long ceremony. This wedding had lots of adorable little personal touches and felt very much laid back and fun, like the two of them.
I chose to only include photos of April & Dan. They honored their friends and family, just like at every wedding, but I felt this post should reflect their wedding and I really love this collection of shots of just the two of them.
Dan is a firefighter. I always love incorporating stuff like this into weddings. It is obviously a big part of their lives and I was excited to integrate this into their wedding photos!
Reception was at Vermillion on the Lake. Love this place, have been a couple times in the past!
Love this shot of them outside the lodge!
Plans for an outdoor ceremony were foiled by Mother Nature, but the ceremony indoors was cute and comfortable for everyone!
Dan and April are fellow Golden Retriever parents like my husband and I! I absolutely adored their cake topper, so cute!
Thank you Dan and April for including me! Your wedding was one of my favorites!
